Gear
My Electric Bass.
My Fender Jazz is my sole Electric Bass. I use this for all of my functions and shows and I’m yet to find a purpose that it can’t fulfil. It is a 2009 American Deluxe 5-String and it is an instrument that I could not work without.
My Double Bass.
This is a monster that really should have a page to itself!
My Martin Concert 4/4 was made for me by my good friends Thomas and George Martin of Banbury, England. It is the workhorse that I use every single day and whether it is holding up part of the bass section to a Mahler symphony or driving a jazz trio it never ceases to amaze me.
Please have a look around Tomas and Georges website, it really is amazing some of the stuff these guys get up to! You can find them at: www.thomasmartin.co.uk
To carry this monster around I need to make sure I have a strong, hard-wearing and light-weight case. The amazing folks at Tom and Will have been nice enough to support me with one of their “Superior 4/4 gig bag” I have used them since I started playing and would not suggest any other way to carry a double bass.
Please check their gear out, they have cases for EVERY instrument! You can find them at: www.tomandwill.co.uk
Amplification.
I am lucky enough to be the worlds youngest endorsee for Euphonic Audio Amplification. My set-up is simple, but it is more than effective.
I use their specially designed Doubler Head that can pack enough punch to fill even the largest of halls and I pair it with their amazingly lightweight, yet powerful, 1x10 Wizzy cabinet.
Please check out all that Euphonic Audio has to offer by looking around their website: www.eaamps.com
Strings
I am also very happy be an endorsed artist with “The Bass Centre” and use their signature “Stadium Strings” 45-130 gauge on my Fender Jazz.
